We treat our employees like family and employees treat our customers like family. After more than thirty-nine years of doing this, we forget who we’re actually related to.
Back in 1978, Dave Bailey and Dave Deforge started making wooden bottom clogs at the factory in Colchester. They sold them wholesale to retail shoe stores all over New England, and started selling the seconds (slightly imperfect) in the front area of the Colchester store. Gradually, they added lines of shoes from other vendors to their own retail presence.
We are the behind the scenes admin team of Stephanie, Shari and Derek! If you email us you will probably get Steph. If you call us you will get Derek and Shari. All of us share a common goal — providing you with great service!
Chris joined the team in 2014 as a buyer. He comes with over 25 years of experience and is a great asset to our buying team! When he is not working at Danform he is running and staying fit as a fiddle!
1978: Danform Shoes started as a clog shop at its current Colchester location.
1982: Helen joined the company as the bookkeeper.
1984: The Shelburne Road store opens.
1986: Dave went on the road as a Sales rep for several different Canadian Boot companies.
1990: the St Albans store was purchased.
1999: Adams Boots and Shoes was purchased from John Adams who continued to work in the store until he passed away. A beautiful plaque in his honor is located on the outside of the downtown Burlington store.
Today, Danform Shoes has four successful locations. Over thirty-nine years, the shoes have changed, but Helen and Dave’s philosophy – helping our customers find the best shoes at the best price in a comfortable atmosphere – remains the same.
